HEALTH

Breed health & welfare is a main tenet of our philosophy and vision for Lasagesse ETTs.

The English Toy Terrier as a breed is generally very healthy and has few known heritable diseases. Other than regular worming, teeth cleaning, grooming, nail clipping and inoculations, the ETT generally requires little medical intervention.

However, as with all breeds, there are hereditory conditions you should be aware of:

  • PUTNAM PATELLA LUXATION
  • JUVENILE DILATED CARDIOMYOPATHY (JDCM)
  • VON WILLEBRAND DISEASE

LASAGESSE HEALTH TESTING PROGRAMME

We at Lasagesse are committed to test all of our breeding stock as well as any external stud dogs we may use in our breeding plans for all known genetic anomalies.

All results will be published and freely available on our website in “THE DOGS” section, no matter the outcome. Thus allowing complete transparency for everyone involved with the breed and ensuring that the correct decisions are being made about any future breeding plans.

In order to ensure our dogs are kept in tip top condition we carry out regular health check regime on all dogs we keep including weekly nail trimming, quarterly worming, monthly dental checks, Lepto 2 immunisation and innoculations.
