KC WARRANT AWARDS

In addition to Show Champion awards the Kennel Club also offers Warrants that reward performance in the show ring.  There are currently three show ring warants offered to varying age groups. All are awarded from a points based system collected at a mix of Open & Championship shows.

Junior Warrant: is an award for dogs that gain the relevant points between the ages of 6-18months.

Show Certificate Of Excellence: this award recently replaced the Show Certificate of Merit and rewards performance at open shows for dogs aged over 18 months.

Veteran Warrant: is a new award for dogs aged 7 years and over. Again it is a points based system collected only at open shows.

English Toy Terrier Junior Warrants   The KC first offered this award in the mid-eighties. Since its launch, only 33 breed juniors have gained this award. The award allows JW suffix to be added to the winners kennel name and also awards a Stud Book number. The list below details all 33 winners from the very first Ch. Brynlythe Tannia (rated by many as one of the very finest examples of the breed ever produced.) through many well known dogs: Joruben The Beez Kneez to Sharex Burning Love For Dobrugh, up to the present day luminaries from Witchstone and our very own Lasagesse Definitely Maybe.

English Toy Terrier Show Certificate Of Merit                                                       This award has recently been replaced by the Show Certificate Of Excellence and so far an ETT has not been awarded this accolade. However since the inception of the original award only 7 ETT’s have gained this illustirous award. This award rewards quality and longevity in the show ring, 5 of the winners are Show Champions and another is Top ETT 2019 (Club System).

English Toy Terrier Veteran Warrants The very latest warrant to be awarded by the KC, this award is designed to keep those older/veteran dogs in the show ring and to provide a reward for the very best. To date only one ETT has been awarded this hounour. Mrs C. Inch’s Ariane Oh What A Night At Edalene who was named Top ETT in 2019 (Club System) also gained her veteran warrant in 2019 to add to her Show Certificate Of Merit.
